Should I file a claim?

Your policy requires you to notify Definite right away if you have an incident that would warrant a claim. If you choose not to file a claim, there’s a risk that you could lose coverage for damage or injuries discovered later. And filing protects you from possible future lawsuits as well.

Is there anything I need to know before I file? There are a few points to keep in mind:

  • If you file a claim, you’ll be responsible for paying any applicable deductible before your insurance kicks in. Get deductible information specific to your policy at My Account.
  • Your premium, or the amount you pay for your policy, may increase after the accident.
